As a passionate agriculture graduate from the University of Ilorin, I believe Nigeria has the potential to revolutionize its agricultural sector through technology, research, and global collaboration.
To explore this further, I had a conversation with Ayomide Bankole, Ojo, a fellow Nigerian and Master’s student in Environmental Protection Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology, Poland. His background in Agricultural Economics and current research made this conversation particularly rich and insightful.

Tech in Agriculture
In Poland, precision agriculture is widely used—drones, sensors, and data analytics help optimize crop management. This use of technology leads to increased productivity and efficient resource use. If Nigeria adopts similar practices, we could see major improvements in both yield and environmental sustainability.

Poland prioritizes environmental protection through efficient water use, crop rotation, and organic farming. These practices combat soil degradation and drought—challenges that are all too familiar in Nigeria.

To attract more young people into agriculture and agribusiness, Ayomide recommends the following incentives:
